Fall is Coming…

Jacket: Super-soft and unstructured (no shoulder padding and no canvassing; just the outer tweed and the inner lining) herrringbone tweed jacket from the Gap, thrifted $7.50 

Shirt: Lands’ End Tailored Fit, $22 (I’ve had my eye on this shirt for awhile, but finally bit the bullet during the recent 25% off + free shipping sale)

I’m not generally a fan of stuff from the Gap, but every so often they will come out with something nice—even if it might have seemed a little off at the time of its release. Take, for instance, this jacket from the ‘Holiday ‘08’ catalog, it’s a solidly constructed tweed jacket that has double vents, no shoulder pads, and no interfacing of any kind, which loans it the soft unstructured look that will continue to be a la mode this Fall and Winter. Whoever bought it originally had little taste for it, as they never unstitched the vents or the pockets, and ended up donating it almost four years later. I picked it up for $7.50 the other day when I bought those Zegna ties, and now have another solid tweed jacket for my F/W wardrobe.
